Your feed is based on who you follow. If you follow people who share things constantly that you’re into, then your Facebook experience will be much better. You can also use it to share photos and videos and if you like one that you’ve seen, you can save it. Facebook has a feature that allows you to save photos that come across your news feed and you may have wondered if Facebook tells people whether you’ve saved their pictures or not. If you’ve been on Snapchat, you’ll know that they have a screenshot feature where if you screenshot someone’s story, then the person will be notified and told of the screenshot. Other apps like Instagram implemented this for their stories for a brief period before removing it. Although Facebook doesn’t notify if your post has been screenshotted, you may be wondering if they’ll notify users that you’ve saved their photos.
Does Facebook Notify When You Save a Photo
Fortunately, Facebook doesn’t notify someone when you save someone else’s picture. There’s no way that someone will find out that you’ve hit the save button on the menu button for their pictures. You can save as many pictures as you like on Facebook and no one will ever find out, unless you tell them yourself. For direct messages, Facebook doesn’t notify when you save someone’s picture. If someone sends you a picture via Messenger, Facebook wouldn’t tell them that you saved it. If you save someone’s profile picture, much like a photo on your news feed, Facebook wouldn’t notify them that you saved it. This might help you if you wanted to save someone’s profile so that you can have it in your camera roll ready to look at later. Tip: If you’re worried about people saving your pictures on Facebook, you may way to make your Facebook profile private. Your existing followers and future follow requests that you approve will be able to save your picture. But anyone you haven’t approved wouldn’t be able to view your content, so they’ll only be able to save your profile picture. If you’re worried about people you don’t know saving your picture on Facebook, then you can make your account private. Making your account private means that only your friends can save your picture and people who don’t follow you have to have their friend request approved before they can save your pictures – the only exception to this is that they can save your profile picture without having to follow you.

- Select Close to save the change.
Facebook Saving Pictures Notifications?
If you’ve been wondering if there are certain ways that someone could tell you’ve saved their picture, there is none. Facebook has a notifications section that provides its users with notifications when a certain action has been taken on their Facebook account. Facebook doesn’t provide its users with notifications when it comes to anyone saving their picture so you can’t see who saves your photos nor can someone else see if you save their pictures.
Does Someone Know If You Save Their Picture on Facebook
There’s no way for someone to know if you save their picture on Facebook. Due to privacy reasons, Facebook doesn’t reveal the people that have saved your pictures so there’s no way someone can know if you’ve done it. You don’t need to change any privacy settings that’ll prevent them from seeing if you’ve saved their picture. If you see a friend’s picture you like and you want to download it, you can do that without worrying. This is pretty much the same with all social media apps. They don’t reveal when a user has saved a photo to their device. There are no alerts given in the notification section when this happens so no one can tell.
If It’s A Group Photo
If you’re in a group photo with someone and they’ve tagged you in the picture they posted on their timeline, they’re going to assume that you’ve saved it. Most people who are in a group photo who don’t have the photo already are likely to save it. If you’re a close group too and like to have pictures often, they’re going to know that you’ve saved the picture. Although they can’t be 100% sure, most people would assume that you saved it.
If You Post The Picture
If they know that no one else has that picture, but you then go ahead and post the picture after downloading it from their timeline, they’ll know that you saved it. The only time they’ll assume that you didn’t save the picture that they posted is if you’ve got it from someone else and then posted it. But if they know that the photo is theirs and no one else has it, then they’ll know that you just stole it from them.
If It Contains You
If it’s just you and them in the picture, they’ve never shared it with you before, but they decide to post it to their Facebook feed, then they’ll know that you probably saved the post, especially if they tagged you. If it’s an old post that they posted months or years ago and they didn’t even have you on FB when they posted it, they’re not going to there you saved it because they’ll assume that you never saw it. But if they tagged you and have never shared the picture or video with you, they’ll think you saved it.
If You Like And Comment
If you like and comment on the photo you saved, it’ll let them know that you’re fond of the picture and they’re likely to save it. If the photo is funny, or you’re their best friend/significant other, then they’ll think that you saved it. If the photo has no relevance to you whatsoever, then they won’t be able to tell that you saved it. If you do want to make sure that they don’t know you’ve saved it, don’t like and comment on the post.
If Your Share
If you share the picture they posted to your timeline, they’re going to know that you saved it, especially if it’s camera-roll-worthy. If it’s something serious, and a photo that isn’t camera roll worthy, they’re not going to know you saved it. But if you’ve gone to the lengths of sharing it, they’re going to assume that you’ve saved it. This is especially if you’re a significant other.
If Someone Tells Them
The strongest way that someone can know you saved their picture is if someone tells them. When someone tells them and even shows them that you sent them their picture, there’s no denying that it was you because everything points back to you (that’s if they didn’t send the photo or video to anyone else). The only way that someone would be able to tell someone else that it was you who saved their picture is if you sent it to someone that’s close to them. Or, they just thought that it’d be funny to tell the person that you saved and sent their picture with them.
They See It On Your Phone
If you hang with this person a lot and they can constantly get a glimpse of your phone, they might one day find out that you saved the photo that they posted on Facebook. If they can have access to your phone and you save their picture, you need to make sure that you hide it from your camera roll or gallery and keep it in an album that they wouldn’t open.
Does Messenger Notify When You Save a Photo or Video
If you’ve been wondering if there are certain ways that someone could tell you’ve saved a picture they sent you in a Messenger chat, there is none. Facebook has a notifications section that provides its users with notifications when a certain action has been taken on their Facebook account. Facebook doesn’t provide its users with notifications when it comes to anyone saving so you can’t see when someone saves a picture you sent them nor can someone see if you save a picture they sent you in Facebook Messenger. Even if you screenshot someone’s picture on Messenger, there’s no way they’ll know.
If They Know It’s Something You’d Save, They’d Be Able To Tell
If in general, they can assume that it’s a photo you’d save, then they’ll know that you’ve saved it. You’ll make them guess better if you react to the picture in Messenger because now they know you’ve seen it, plus they know you like it, so you’re way more likely to save it.
If You Laugh They Might Tell
If they’ve sent you something funny and you’ve sent laughing emojis, they’re going to assume that you want to keep seeing it so you’re going to save it. If they know you like funny memes then they’re going to think you want to save it.
If They Receive The Photo From Someone Else And They Only Send It To You
If someone can see that one of your closest friends is on the list of people that viewed their story, then they’re probably going to think that it was you who shared it. This only works when they can’t tie that person directly to you. If you have mutual followers then it’s less likely that they’re going to assume it’s you who shared their story. If you share someone’s story and you think that they’re going to assume it’s you who shared it based on the friend who viewed it, it’s best to tell your friend not to view their story when you share it with them. You can just tell them what’s going on in their story rather than sending it to them. Or if what you want them to see it, in the midsection of the story, they can see a snippet of it in the chat rather than clicking on the story which will notify the person who uploaded it that your friend viewed it.
Can You Save Someone Else’s Facebook Photo?
You can save someone else’s Facebook photo by using the Save option that Facebook provides when you hold down on someone’s photo. To save someone’s Facebook photo, you need to hold down on the photo and click save. This will download it straight into your camera roll and they’ll never know that you saved it.
